  • Condition: doll has a faint older smell from being in dry storage, not super dirty but does have normal wear and soil areas on lower arms and legs that were exposed to elements and from being played with. there is a very fine faint slit in left side leg as shown in pic, NO RIPS OR TEARS otherwise, a darker soil spot on opposite right leg. the clothing could use a washing as again normal wear and light soiling from elements and being played with. there is a small piece of red hair on left side bottom that has a pull in it and hangs somewhat lower than the rest of strands. there is no tag on this doll and from my inspection it appears there never was one, but I could be wrong. I see no spot where it was cut off or possibly removed. please view all pics and use zoom to inspect condition for yourself and please read full item description for all the details about this doll.

Description

here is a vintage handmade RAGGEDY ANN doll circa 1950-1960. this original vintage 23″ large doll has all original clothing, hand embroidered facial features, no tag, and the hair is stitched in her head. Possibly a handmade Mccall’s Pattern doll, she has a rare feature in that her large solid plastic button eyes are sewn in with NO WHITE circular patch underneath. this doll is old, has been played with and shows all the normal signs of age and wear in all the right spots with light soiling and stains in a few spots and on clothing. clothing could use a cleaning as well as the doll by a professional. there are a couple of pulls in the dark red cotton or wool? hair. back of doll hair is dusty. again the hair is stitched in the head. left side front left leg a a very fine less than 1″ slit in material not exposing the stuffing which is very firm but somewhat flexible. i believe it is balled up string with vintage doll stuffing like in older vintage ideal dolls. the right side leg has a small stain on top. these both are shown in pics. so please use zoom. the joints are sewn at the elbows and knees of doll body. no rips or tears. was told this is a handmade doll has a faint older smell from being in DRY storage, no mildew odors. please view all pics.
